Another suggestion, make a new bookmark using the actual IP instead of the domain name. That should help your confused/stubborn browser, just don't start it with "https" or it will be the same thing all over again lol.

99.198.98.68:8500

Don't forget if I ever change hosts the bookmark will break, but I'm pretty happy with Beastnode so far.

Site information like certificates can leave information in the history folder too if you're unlucky (like me right now). So removing my cookies and cache didn't work on chrome. Opening up an incognito tab worked straight away and might be the easier option if you don't have dinmap open for extended periods of time.

Thanks for the tip, great workaround!

i notice it always shorts the address to gnarcraft.com and doesn't have the other stuff like http or https why does it do that?

I assume to save space in the display, but who knows  :P  You'd have to ask the software designer of the browser  ;)  You can always tell by the little icons.

the link on the site for mobile in the forum box always takes me to https i have to manual put it in a search bar then it work.

Like I said in the original post, when you visit the forums if it is https then the link will inherit https also. I have the link hardcoded as http, but doesn't seem to matter. The forums themselves work with either.

If you are attempting to view Dynmap and receive that error it means that your browser is attempting to make a secure connection using SSL or TLS. It is changing "http" to "https". That can't work because Dynmap does not use SSL.

There is nothing I can do from my end to address this. My domain host provider does have an option to force a redirect with all gnarcraft from "http" to "https", but I have that turned off.

On the address bar of your browser, try simply changing the "https" to "http". When I tried this with Firefox it would not let me, so here is how I fixed it in Firefox...
  • On the address bar is a little icon of a circle with an i in it. Click that icon.
  • On the bottom of the drop-down window is an option "Clear cookies and data". Select that option
  • Now try changing the "https" to "http"

Chrome allowed me to change "https" to "http" no problem.

If you are using the link from the forums make sure the forum address is http instead of https or the Dynmap link will inherit the https.  You can fix it the same way as above.

Make sure any bookmarks you have are also correct.

If you are using some other browser and still have problems I can try to help. I doubt I will be much help with mobile browsers since I can't test outside of what I have on my Samsung phone (and I have not got the error on my phone) but I could try googling.  :P
